Consultations and Training Growly and Reactive Dogs

Most dogs when reacting in a seemingly aggressive manner are simply displaying natural behaviour to keep those things they find fearful (commonly other dogs), away.

The key is to reduce the fear, anxiety and stress the dog is experiencing in order to have maximum impact and the most long-lasting results. Punishing the dog or training with punitive methods is not the answer and nearly always worsens the dog's behaviour.

We offer small group sessions which are especially designed for growly and reactive dogs who, for whatever reason, bark, show aggressiveness, lunge or react to other dogs. If your dog reacts or shows aggression to people, you will need to book a consultation with one of The Behaviour Company team instead.

The sessions are limited to only six dogs, giving you opportunity to meet people who are dealing with the same dog aggression issues and the frustration and anxiety it causes. Each session lasts one hour for six weeks.

For three weeks (every other week) you will bring your own dog giving you plenty of guided hands-on practice and for the other three weeks (every other week) you will observe, allowing you to concentrate on learning the skills required to help your dog gain confidence and social skills. Safety is of paramount importance and we work hard to ensure all dogs are kept calm throughout the sessions. You will learn cutting-edge, positive, reward-only techniques based on the latest research for minimising and alleviating your dog's reactivity, improving confidence and in turn quality of life for your dog and your family.

Includes a training clicker, access to online and printed resources and the opportunity to use our facilities to do set-ups with your dog.
